New boiler install with a tricky flue termination

The old boiler was leaking on the heat exchanger, the flue was enclosed on 3 sides, and terminated under the customers mesh walkway.

The boiler was also oversized for the property, had two pumps installed working against each other, so a new boiler installation was given the green light.
We intially were going to install a Worcester Bosch Ri as this would have resolved the two pump problem, but the effective flue length required would have been over what the Ri could deliver, so a 4000 was chosen, and the existing pump removed off the system.

The existing filter had done its job and helped protect the old boiler, so the first job was to make sure the system was really clean to except the new boiler.

ADEY powercleanse was used on this system to help breakdown anything left, and until it was clean.

With the new Worcester Bosch 4000 installed, the second expansion vessel checked, recharged and the removal of the existing pump.
We turned our attention to correctly installing the new flue. Neatly cutting a small section of the walkway out, we are able to terminate the flue at high level, away from light with a PIR, so as not to intefere with it working correctly.

A great job for a really great customer, who kept us in tea and biscuits. The install should save the customer a bit on the energy bills, the boiler now correctly matches the heat loss of the property, and the radiators are working better than ever. Looking forward to going back in 12 months to see how they are doing.
